Invisalign®: The Revolution in Adult Orthodontic Care!

It’s never too late to work towards a more aligned smile. Orthodontic care isn’t just for young teens! However, as you get older, you may find that you want to straighten your smile more subtly than traditional metal braces allow for. That’s why so many adults and older teens love Invisalign®. Consisting of clear, virtually invisible aligners, Invisalign® is a system that allows you to achieve a smile you love with confidence. At Manteca Dental Care, we offer Invisalign to our patients who want to achieve a straight smile without anyone knowing.

How does Invisalign work?

Dr. Rick Van Tran will work with you to create your series of clear aligners. Based on digital impressions we take of your smile, Dr. Tran will custom-design your aligners to gradually shift your teeth into the correct position. You will wear each set of aligners for two weeks before moving on to the next set. You can remove the aligners for eating, brushing, and flossing, making this system convenient and easy for patients!

;

How long does the treatment take?

The length of your treatment will depend on your unique situation, but usually it takes anywhere from six to 18 months, which is generally less time than traditional metal braces take. You will meet with Dr. Tran every four to six weeks to track your progress. At the end of the treatment, you will have a straight, aligned smile that you are proud to show off!

;

Can Invisalign® be used for children?

We do not recommend Invisalign® be used for children, because they still have baby teeth that will be falling out. In addition, children usually don’t have the discipline required to consistently wear, care for, and switch out the aligners.
;

How often do I need to wear the aligners?

Even though the aligners are removable, for best results, you should only remove them for eating, brushing and flossing, or special occasions. You should wear them at least 22 hours a day.

TMJ Disorder Treatment

TMJ stands for temporomandibular joints, which are the joints that connect the jaw bone to the skull. Many patients experience popping, locking, pain, or stiffness in their jaw. This condition is called TMD, or temporomandibular disorder. TMD can cause headaches, earaches, jaw pain, and other issues.

Often, TMD is caused by a misaligned bite. Orthodontic treatment can create a proper bite, allowing for correct positioning of the jaw joints and relief from TMD symptoms. Dr. Tran will work with you to determine if orthodontic treatment is the right choice for treating your TMD.
